Morning Meeting Was Made Simple?
Running out of ways to kick off the day right? I get it. Morning meeting is a short daily routine where your class gathers to greet each other, check in, and talk through a quick question or scenario together. It sets a calm, connected tone for everything that follows and builds social-emotional skills without a separate block of time. And yes, it can happen any time of day (no judgment if afternoon works better for your crew).

The Morning Rush
I taught third grade and K–8 social-emotional learning, and most mornings I was running on coffee and whatever I had left after morning duty. But the second my class sat down, backpacks still half on, and we started morning meeting, everyone was settled. Me included.
It was the one part of my day I'd fight to protect (seriously, don't even think about scheduling a fire drill during it). So I built the slides I wished I'd had. Ready to project, easy to follow, and full of the greetings and check-ins that help students feel like they belong.
